4 Cities From the East to Midwest You Should Consider for a Solo Trip

4 Cities From the East to Midwest You Should Consider for a Solo Trip

Taking a solo vacation is an excellent way to boost your energy and get back into a motivated mindset. Visiting somewhere new gives you the chance to experience new cultures, try new foods, and live a new life for a brief moment. Research shows that travel opens your eyes and helps you figure out who you are. Here are four places in the Midwest and the eastern U.S. you should consider for your next solo trip.

1. Pennsburg, Pennsylvania

If you prefer a quiet town with beautiful nature reserves and friendly people, consider visiting Pennsburg, Pennsylvania. Visit Green Lane Park and take a nature walk done Orange Trail. Take this opportunity to look for a new home if you think a trip is not enough. Sometimes you need a brand new start, and Pennsburg is a wonderful place to retire or raise a family.

2. Chicago, Illinois

Chicago natives love their home city, and the reason is obvious once you visit. It's full of history, architecture, stunning views of one of the Great Lakes, and a great food scene. You have to try a piece of delicious Chicago deep-dish pizza while you're there, and don't worry, the cheese is under the sauce. Go to Navy Pier for a view of the lake from the Ferris wheel and some great shopping. You can travel almost anywhere on the L train, and the people are friendly and proud.

You may even want to buy a vacation home near the beach. Just remember that pricing for a vacation home is sometimes steep. You could be required to pay as much as 20% upfront for a down payment. Talk to your established bank about a home equity loan if you need a little help.

3. New York, New York

If you've never been to NYC before, now is the time to go. Everyone should experience the electric atmosphere of the Big Apple. Goes near the end of the year to see the famous Rockefeller Christmas tree. Go shopping at Bergdorf Goodman in Manhattan and see the lights of Times Square. If you’re looking for Yankees tickets, use an online vendor. You can typically see the view from the seat you chose by checking for sites with an interactive seating chart providing a 360-degree seat view. If you're thinking about staying there, consider housing in Brooklyn and skip the outrageous pricing of the Upper East Side.

4. Cleveland, Ohio

Cleveland, Ohio might seem like an unlikely choice for a weekend getaway, but you'll find some of the best food you've ever had, and you can't miss the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame Museum. Take a ferry tour around Lake Erie and stay in one of the many lakeside hotels. Cleveland is home to some of the most beautiful Airbnbs in the Midwest at affordable pricing if you prefer a more personal lodging situation. Go during the winter to experience amazing discount shopping, and talk to a realtor about the locations available for rent in case you can't bring yourself to leave.

If you're short on time, start with the location closest to you. You can build your travel plans from there and go to a different city every time you need a trip. Remember not to underestimate this part of the country. It has plenty of culture to offer.
